Bill Clinton.....Moment in History or Is He History?

Introduction:  Yesterday, you were able to view our 42nd President.  He was 'stumping' for his wife, presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.  Was this a once in a lifetime learning event?  If so, what did you learn from this?

Task:  Write a 5 sentence paragraph reacting to yesterday's experience.  Focus on the political aspect rather than issues like the heat or time waiting (although they could be minor aspects of a larger picture).

Some ideas for what to write about include:
-What you heard (his ideas - what were his ideas and what did you think of his ideas?)
-How he said it (how did he say what he said and how did it come off to you? )
-What you think about what you heard
-The crowd (who were they race, dress, etc..)
-The staff (age, race, etc...of Clinton's support staff)

Grading:
10 points - paragraph answering essential question
5 points - reacting to two fellow students work
= 15 points

  1. Yesterday at the rally it was a great experience to heard the 42nd president speak. The atmosphere was different and diverse. He touched on alot of thing about young people and social media. How it is beneficial to us. Also how his wife wanted to extend the limit of loans for college students. he was very enthused on how he spoke. I agree with the social media and im ok with the extension of student loans. The staff was great and well organized and i enjoyed myself.

  2. First off, Bill and Hillary are both lying, uncreditable killers. If i say the name Ron brown. OR say the event Bengasi, Bet you no one knows what they are. Yesterdays "event" was no more than a bunch of "bs". He fed his supporters what they wanted to hear. "Oh we'll remove pay for education". First off the presedent does not have power to decide funds, congress does. Bengazi left four of our fellow americans dead. Due to the "great Hillary" she has "hidden" emails that she shouldnt have. Pretty suspicous, Then good old Bill, nothing more than a rapest... Dont Vote for anything named Clinton

  4. I think that Bill Clinton did a good job explaining Hillary's plans at the Capital yesterday. I don't remember everything he said, but I know he said that having free tuition for everyone isnt realistic, and that Hillary Clinton supports farmers and building infrastructure. He was very professional in representing her, and didn't let the fact that she is his wife get in the way and he truly believes she can benefit the United States as president. The crowd was very diverse, ranging in age, gender, and race. This let me know that many different types of people support her, and not just one type of person.

  6. This iS Jordan Richardson. But i believe this was a hsistorical moment for me. i believe this because this was the first time i have ever met a former president or any important politician. I felt like Bill made some really good points but one point i did not agree with was the adoption part. He said that people that adopt kids with specials needs will get tax cuts, i believe this will lead to people adopting children just for tax cuts. This would lead to the child being in a bad circumstance maybe even leading to neglect of the child. But he did make great points for Hilary and I believe he did it in the right manner.

So I believe that the health care system does have to improve. Something else that I agree with was when he said that student loans interest need to be lower. With that being said, Bill Clinton did manage to make me like some of Hillary's ideas. One of the ideas that I liked was about solar energy and how Hillary wants every state to generate energy from the sun and the wind. One thing that he said that I didn't agree with was that Hillary is able to make the changes that this country needs. The crowd was very diverse. I had a brief conversation about Hillary Clinton with a foreign guy, who seemed like he was from Africa, which was pretty nice and also a little surprising. I didn't expect foreign people to care so much about American politics. Overall, I do not think that Hillary Clinton would make a good president, but going to the event was a great experience.

  36. With my once in life time learning event I learned a lot about politics and how the United States is ran and how candidates plan to run it if they become the 42 president for example Hillary Clinton. What I heard is that she plan to reduce college debt for students who cannot play it. when this was said it came off to me in a good way because she has a good heart for people who aren't as wealthy as others and they could still have good life pursuing their career and do not have to stress about paying debt back their whole life. From the staff to people of different races agreed with what Clinton was stating, we all understood that Hillary's plan is to make America good again and with her in office that is possible.

  37. It was an honor to be in the presence of former president Bill Clinton. He spoke on behalf of his wife and expressed some of her plans that she would enact on during her presidency. I wish she could have spoke for herself but also I think it aids her to have a former president as her husband. He stated that she has plans to help reduce the amount of debt that college students are in once they finish college. I am interested in this plan because I plan on going to college and would love to not have a great deal of debt. The speech took place at the Keystone Building therefore there were a lot of business people dressed up. They all seemed to be just as excited to share this experience. I loved having Obama as a president and I believe whoever fills his position next should carry on his successes. I wish Hillary the best in her campaigning.

  39. Former president Bill Clinton brought up some really interesting topics but the one that stuck out most was to break down the barriers that was holding back Pennsylvania families. Knowing that someone wants to help out Pennsylvania is a big step because not many individuals heard of this place and for both Hilary and Bill Clinton to have taken interest in us was already a big step. As Bill was speaking for Hilary he also mentioned gun control and how they want to make it more strict. America is a huge place that is not the best, but it can get better with just the right person in charge.

  40. It was interesting to see a the former president Bill Clinton but it was very disappointing to me because Hilary did not attend the rally. The only point I thought was very interesting to me was the part he was talking about that we should use solar panels. I feel as though it was good idea and everyone should but to save money and it is renewable. Overall, I did not like it and I don't care who wins the presidential election.

  41. Being able to attend former president Bill Clinton speech was a wonderful opportunity. He spoke on behalf of his wife and expressed some of her plans that she would take on during her presidency. It would have been even better if she would have been there herself to explain her plans. Mr. Clinton stated that his wife has plans to help reduce the amount of debt that college students are in once they finish college. I plan on going to college and this plan would be nice to have instead of going in to debt.

  42. The rally was truly a great experience. It was pretty cool to hear the 42nd president speak. He represented her well at the rally and shared with us how important her views and goals to achieve with us are.He stated that she has plans to help reduce the amount of debt that college students are in once they finish college.
