ReplyDeleteTerrorism has been around for many years in the world. Different types of terrorism include terror by people against the government, terrorism by national terror groups, international terror movements, state sponsored terror, and by terror by the state. Terrorism has changed in many ways over the years. It first started out by people going against their government. This happened in France a lot. Then it switched to national groups committing assassinations like our very own President McKinley.

ReplyDeleteTerrorism is the use of violence and intimidation for political aims. Terrorism comes in different forms, terror by the people which for example happened during the French Revolution which people was killed that were connected to former monarchial government. Terror by national terror groups happen when the revolutionaries in 1881 killed the Tsar of Russia because Narodnaya Volya had felt that the Tsars were ruling unfairly. International Terror Movements are worldwide movement of secret cells of anarchists and is responsible for the murder of the President of Italy in 1894. State Sponsored Terror is when s state kills a leader to overthrow the country, It happened on June 28th, 1914 when Gavrilo Princip was assassinated. Finally there is terror by the state is when the state terrorizes their people to suppress a revolt. After WW2 have changed it have became a political instrument for revolutionaries that want independence. Terrorism has evolved due to the fact that everyone wants equal rights and that more and more people will join the cause to make that true.

ReplyDeleteThere are many types of terrorism that have been use throughout history : terror by people against the govt,(the reign of terror from 19793-1794) terror by national terror groups(assassination of the tsar in 1881), international terror movement (anarchist internation 1886-1912), state sponsored terror (that happened when Gavrilo princip assassinated Archduke Ferdinand in Sarajevo which sparked ww2) , terror by state (when Stalin use terrorism to suppress dissent by executing millions and imprisoning others) All those types of terrorism share a common traits which is violence, but each type use different method of violence. Terrorism has evolved over times due to the fact that before terrorists did not want to kill a lot but want a lot to see/hear about the event and now terrorist kills thousands of people.

Terrorism is mostly used by group of people who use their power to intimidate people and show off their power that is what we all think but that's not true.It only took one event which tipped the cup over to create a huge problem which created World War I. At the beginning all Serbian people wanted to take over back their land and earn their rights and come together as one and back home. There were many ways in which terrorism was used such as an event during the Olympics in which the Israels athletes were held hostage by the Arab Gorillas. Another example was on September 1901 President McKinley was assassinated in which was caused because of terrorism. Terrorism comes in different forms whether it's by people who terrorize the government or national terror groups, state sponsored terrorism, international terror groups, the state terrorizing it's own people or modern terror. There are different ways in which terrorism can be used but what they all have in common is that people are suffering and people are being affected by these different types of terrorism. The government may use terror to scare their people and receive more power or more respect. At first only a few people died and suffered but as the years go on and terrorism is growing and rising there are more and more deaths and more attacks on the people.

Terrorism is not necessary groups of people, but a way to advance their goals, and used to intimidate the people and even destroy their political opponents. There many types of terrorism used throughout history: democratic Terror by people against the govt, Terror by national groups which caused the assassination of the tsar, International terror movements, state sponsored terror and modern terror.June 28th, 1914 when Gavrilo Princip was assassinated which was a state sponsored terror attack.

Terrorism comes from the Latin word” fear”, terrorism is the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims. The different types of terror are; terror by people against the government, terror by national terror groups, international terror movements, state sponsored terror, terror by state and modern terror. Terrorism has strong bias because many viewpoints can be expressed by a terrorist action. Terrorism has evolved from terror by people against the government in 1793 by the French revolution to modern terror today in places like Paris, Syria, Lebanon and Mali. Another type of terror is terror by the state, which was used by the leader of the Soviet Union joseph Stalin in 1920’s, he used terrorism to execute and imprisoned soviets resulting in the death of 20 million people. The strategy of terrorists is to commit acts of violence that draws the attention of local populace, the government and the world to their cause.

ReplyDeleteTerrorism is the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims. Along with terrorism, there are several types of terrorism. For example, some types or terrorism are international terror groups, modern terror, terror by people against the state, national terror groups, and terror by the state against it's own people. One event in which terrorism occurred was September 11, 2001 when the world trade centers were attacked in which killed over 3,000 people. This attack on the United States was probably the most influential regarding increasing security and awareness throughout the nation. Another example in which a terrorist attack took place was on April 19, 1995 in which a car bomb exploded outside a federal office building claiming the lives of 168 people. The development of terrorism has evolved over time because back then, the most often use of terrorism was assassination, but now it seems like terrorist like to target bigger crowds involving the lives of hundreds and thousands of people to putt an emphasis on the amount of damage they can not only do to one person, but hundreds of people.

Terrorism is a very is any act designed to cause terror. There are many types of terrorism that effect our world today such as People terrorizing the government,National Terror Groups,International Terror Groups,State Sponsored Terrorism,Terror By the State Against It's Own People and Modern Terror. One event of terrorism was on April 15th Boston,Massachusetts.multiple bombs explode near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Two bombs went off around 2:50 in the afternoon as runners finished the race. Three people were killed. More than 260 people are injured. Terrorism has evolved because in the past there was only minor assassinations but now it has got broader because terrorist now do mass killings.Terrorist like to make their selves feared by people and make a lasting impression that's why they go after big crowds.

Terrorism has existed throughout the course of history. and have come in many different forms with many different influences. The many different types of terrorism includes State Terrorism, Religious Terrorism, Right Wing Terrorism, Left Wing Terrorism, Pathological Terrorism, Separatist Terrorism, and Narco-Terrorism. Within these many different types of terrorism, they have dramatically changed over the years due to the advancement in weaponry and technology. Back then, terrorist attacks were strategic, organized, and served a political purpose. In the modern era the terrorist attacks have become ruthless, gruesome, and result in many deaths. The targets are also no longer a single individual or group, but are now mainly a large group of innocent civilians.

I like how you explained the different types of terrorism. I also agree with you on how terrorism changed.
DeleteTerrorism is nothing new, states and groups have been seeking power, identity, or end to colonial rule to advance goals since 1793. It dates back to The French Revolution, when thousands were executed and arrested due to connection to monarchical government by Robespierre. The assassinations of the Tsar in 1881 and the death of Alexander II was a result of terror by national terror groups. International terror movements such as Anarchists, were responsible for murdering Italy's president in 1894. Also, the 1886 hay maker square bombing and assassination of President McKinley. Due to state sponsored terrorism, on June 28th, 1914 Gavrilo Princip assassinated Archduke Ferdinand. This in turn, led to WWII and the ruling of Joseph Stalin in the Soviet Union. At this point, terrorism switched from hatred against the government to killing any and everything. His acts of terror by state resulted in the execution of twenty million soviets. Shortly after the war, modern terrorism became a political instrument of revolutionaries seeking independence or self determination. Now terrorist motives range from belief that the world has gone wrong, symbolic value, or even religion to find motivation and justification for their own purpose. Although there are many different types of terrorism, they all have a common goal and states like Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria sponsor it.

You provided a great point on your side of view. I love how you structured you paragrapghs, keep up the good work because your summary is great
DeleteTerrorism has evolved from one form of terrorism to many different factions that now are the most popular in modern day.If we rewind 60 years or more back it would be common to find terror by the state against it's own people since a lot of nations were communist and not a democracy. Since then since the world has evolved out of the dictatorship era and into a democracy terrorism has evolved. State Sponsored Terrorism is a little less common now than for say 50 years ago since the United Nations gives out sanctions to States that actually fund the terrorism. States funded terrorism because they believed in the same views of the terrorist and wanted to show the world that their views are the only right way... in their opinions. National Terrorism is for example the KKK, they are in their own country and are only concerned about inside and want to affect the people that are in their country. International terror groups are like Isil and ISIS. Their focus is to affect the whole world and push their views onto every nation even if that involves killing, this form of terrorism has evolved because of the technology being able to communicate easier with one another and having the capability to reach their audiences easier. And finally Modern terrorism has never evolved since all that faction want to do is kill citizens and inject fear into the Worlds Human's hearts. DeleteTerrorism the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims. Terrorism has a massive social impact on the world and it also has a tremendous global economic impact as well. Terrorism has caused around 130,000 fatalities worldwide between 2006 and 2013. Although the number of terrorist attacks from 2006 to 2013 has decreased, there have been approximately 90,000 total terrorist attacks in that time period. So with that being said terrorism is a crime and a holy duty,a justified reaction to oppression and an inexcusable abomination.

Defined by the dictionary.com as "the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims", terrorism is a tactic used by many different individuals and peoples throughout the world to achieve their intended goals. Although the common view of terrorism today is a loosely organized group of religious extremists taking advantage of crumbling governments in developing nations, there are actually quite different types of terrorism, which can be perpetrated by any classes of a society. International terrorism is enacted when an individual or group aims to change political balance in at least one other sovereign nation (such as when Gavrilo Princip assassinated Franz Ferdinand, inciting WWI. Another type of terrorism is that by People against the State. In this type of terrorism, people assemble and use violence or intimidation tactics in order to bring a desired change throughout the government. This was prevalent throughout multiple French Revolutions. The last type of terrorism I will discuss is one of the most effective kinds; State against People. A prime example of this was The Great Terror Joseph Stalin inflicted on his people. This resulted in the deaths, imprisonments, disappearances, and exile of millions of Stalin's own people.

DeleteWithin the word terroism lies the word terror. Which meazns "frighten" or "tremble" when combined with the latin word isme (refering "to practice") it becomes practicing the trembling. In the early twentieth centry one of the most often used terriost methods was that of assassination. By targetting a significant individual the terrorist groups aimed to undermine the establishment and make it clear that they were willing and able to hit the authorities where it hurt.In 1988 a bomb exploded onboard Pan Am Flight 103, over the Scottish Town of Lockerbie. This bomb killed all on board and people on the ground. In the 21st century so major things happened in history. Al-Qaeda was responsible for an attack on USS Cole, in which a suicide bomber killed 17 US personnel. Al-Qaeda then went on to launch the 9/11 attacks. Which was the biggest terriost attack in history. Another memorable attack would be, In 2008, Islamic Terrorists launched a series of attacks in the Indian City of Mumbai. A more recent attack would be the one in Paris,France thatt happend on November 13, 2015. An Irishman who suffered gunshot wounds during attacks in Paris has undergone surgery, the Irish embassy in the French capital has said.
ReplyDeleteAt least 129 people have died after shootings and bombings on Friday night.
French President Francois Hollande declared a state of emergency and said the attacks were an "act of war" organised by Islamic State militants.
The injured Irishman had been at the Bataclan concert hall - it suffered the deadliest attack during the violence.

DeleteTerrorism is a use to frighten others and cause violence to one another. There are a few groups such as international terrorism, modern terrorism, and national terrorism. Another thing to add is that terrorism has evolved ever since the French revolution being terrorized; known as modern terrorism.Terrorism has been happening time after time, and most citizens in the U.S. will recognize the 9/11 situation, which terrorists killed many innocent citizens; known as national terrorism. This year on November 13, Paris was attacked by terrorists, and many people were killed by them; known as international terrorism. Back then, communism was popular when it came to terrorism, because the majority of people were known to be a communist, and they would tend to kill people like democrats. It keeps happening and it never stops because they want to get the revenge that they want, and they won't stop until they reached their goal. Terrorism causes Syrian refugees from leaving troubled countries, and stepping foot on places they've never been in; Syria was also attacked. Terrorism is violence that governments perpetrate against their own citizens or against the citizens of the of other countries. The different types of terrorism is state terrorism, Bioterrorism, Cyberterrorism, Ecoterrorism, Nuclear Terrorism, and Nacro terrorism. Terrorism goes back into the 1970s, to the Munich Olympics of 1972. Terrorist learned that the way to capture the world's attention if the right targets were chosen the wider the audience, the greater the impact of their actions. Terrorist also saw the power of striking at important symbols. In the 1980s the state sponsored terrorism increased. Other governments around the world took notice and knew that providing support to terrorists it provided an effective way for weaker states to strike more powerful states. Terrorism has concerned the U.S officials because terrorists are not just wanting people to watch but want more people killed.
ReplyDeleteThere are several types of terrorism; socialist/ communists, national/liberation, religious, political, and state terrorism. Terrorism has evolved over time from being a more government controlled terrorism (ex. French revolution, the great terror, etc.) to a more disverse topic. However individual groups have turned to terrorism before. In the past terrorism was used to change the state of the government but after the Munich Olympic games, it was more for the attention. For a while that's how it stayed until they did not only want higher views to their crimes but higher casualties as well. In recent years religious based terrorism has become an increasing threat. Experts believe religious based terrorism is the hardest to fight because they aren't afraid to do whatever it takes to achieve their goal because in their mind its justified by God.

Hay market square bombing assassinating President McKinley. Stalin used terrorism to execute millions and imprison others. Barely wanted to kill many, but they increase it throughout the world
ReplyDeleteThe U.S. State Department defines terrorism as politically motivated violence directed at civilians and perpetrated by nonstate groups. Terrorism has been a serious issue for a long time now. On February 26, 1993 a van loaded with explosives and cyanide parked in the garage of the World Trade Center in New York City. The terrorists had planned for the explosion to collapse one tower, forcing it to fall sideways onto the other tower. They were angered by the United States culture and they regarded it as hostile to religion in general and particularly threatening to Islam. Terrorists can be motivated by several factors. For example State-Sponsored terrorism is terrorist acts on a state or government by a state or government. Dissent terrorism is when terrorist groups have rebelled against their government. Religious terrorism is when terrorists are religiously motivated. Lastly, Criminal terrorism is when terrorists acts are used to aid in crime and criminal profit. Despite the motivation for the attack, terrorism is complex topic which makes it hard to handle.

DeleteThe main definition of terrorism is: the use of violence to physically and psychologically terrorize a population by an individual or a group in order to draw attention to a cause, enact political change, or gain political power. There are many types of terrorism and they can vary to an extent. State terrorism is the use of terror by a government in order to control its population. state terrorism is entirely carried out by the group holding power in a country and not a non-governmental organization. It one of the main forms of terrorism used to harm innocents.Terrorism can be used by religious beliefs and literal guidance. In fact religious terrorism is very dangerous due to the fanaticism of those who practice it and their willingness to sacrifice themselves for the cause. Right Wing terrorism is gang and militia oriented; these groups are motivated and aim to isolate minorities within a state. Terrorists in general seemed to be motivated by a common dictator/leader that has high support for the type of terrorism that is often given. No matter what terrorist will not stop what they're doing and it's going to take the US and many other allied states to do all they can to stop terrorism.

There are five different types of terrorism, state sponsored terrorism, dissent terrorism, terrorist and left and right, religious terrorism, and criminal terrorism. All of different types of terrorism are dangerous and everyone should well aware of them. after the french revolution terrorism came about and has been evolving since then. In this passage I’ll be discussing terrorism, so to understand this passage we must understand the definition of terrorism. Terrorism is a form of an unjust use of violence, in the persecution of political policies. The history of terrorism which evolved from the French revolution. The cause of terrorism is civilizations or culture clashes. Personal reasons may be deprivation an frustration ect…
The types of terrorism are State-Sponsored terrorism which is defined as a consistency of terrorist actions on a certain government by a state or government. Another form is dissent terrorism which can be understood as terrorist groups in rebellion to their government. Terrorist and the left and right is defined as groups which has its reasons rooted in political ideology. While we also have religious terrorism which can be defined as an extremely motivated group based off religion. Lastly we have criminal terrorism which is terrorist acts to assist a crime.

This passage talks about the different types of terrorism. Also about the early years of the 20th Century nationalism and revolutionary political ideologies were the principal developmental forces acting upon terrorism. When the Treaty of Versailles redrew the map of Europe after World War I by breaking up the Austro-Hungarian Empire and creating new nations, it acknowledged the principle of self-determination for nationalities and ethnic groups. This encouraged minorities and ethnicities not receiving recognition to campaign for independence or autonomy. However, in many cases self-determination was limited to European nations and ethnic groups and denied others, especially the colonial possessions of the major European powers, creating bitterness and setting the stage for the long conflicts of the anti-colonial period.

ReplyDeleteTerrorism has evolved and changed over time. From what I get from the videos and readings, is that terrorism started as a way for powerful leaders to instill fear. Fear causes obedience which is why they would want to use terrorism. Eventually, terrorism evolved to less powerful groups trying to make a statement. They want to make a political point, and they want it to be heard loud and clear; affective. Some forms of terrorism are from oppressed religious groups wanting to stand up, some terrorism is to make a statement about the way government is run. In the website http://www.terrorism-research.com/evolution/ it also had a good point about how terrorism evolved as technology evolved.

ReplyDeleteTerrorism is a plague that has encircled the world for hundreds of years. It has exponentially developed over the years and is completely inhumane when it comes to the thoughts of the terrorists. After watching the videos, I discovered a load of information that I had not known before. There are multiple definitions of terrorism but the one that is personally most recognizable is,"The pursuit of political justification through violent and/or aggressive manner." There are also multiple types of terrorism, which include terrorism, religious terrorism, dissent terrorism, terrorist and left and right, state-sponsored terrorism and criminal terrorism. In most cases, terrorists are often influenced by a single tyrant/dictator that has the intention of spreading his/her message throughout the world. Many terrorists are intelligent and strategic in the locations of their attack. They plan an attack that will inflict physical damage to a small group of people but psychologically wound many others. Most cases of terrorism are religious based attacks and motives, which is why they are aimed at over sea nations, because they do not express the same beliefs as they do. Terrorism has taken up many shapes and forms in the past decades and has caused many generations to point towards Middle Eastern descendants as a target for discrimination. This is due to prior attacks in the U.S. originating from the Middle East by a terrorist group by the name of ISIS. But the one good thing to come out of these terrorist attacks is the America has opened it's eyes to the world and realized that we are not everyone's ally. This has caused us to be much more cautious and to make much more connections with powerful nations.
