During the halftime show on the evening 9/11/11 ESPN commentator
Chris Berman was reviewing the day's NFL scores. He concluded his
report by saying, "Of course there is one team we all root for and it's
the greatest team ever assembled". He was speaking about the USA.
Our experiment in
democracy was never tried the same way before nor has it ever been
accurately replicated. What makes our country great? How is
Philadelphia part of our greatness?
Write
a paragraph or more explaining how our trip to Philadelphia to see the
National Constitution Center, Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, helped
you gain a better understanding of our democracy and/or our country.

Our trip to Philadelphia helped me gain a better understanding of our democracy and our country because during the trip I've come to learn how the events of the past took place. How we as a country formed the way were are today. I learned how the constitution had broken but rebuilt itself through all its chaos. During the trip I learned many interesting facts such as how in the the independence hall the the Declaration of Independence and the U.S constitution were both debated and signed. So I learned how the country transgressed throughout the years and what makes it what it is today.

What I've gained and learned from our trip to Philadelphia is about the history of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. I learned how the Liberty Bell of the State House became an extraordinary symbol that still defines our country and democracy to this day. We were able to peer beyond the iconic crack the bell is known for and take a peak at Abolitionists, women suffrage, and Civil Right leaders that developed our country and took inspiration from this very bell.

On the Philly trip, I learned about the amendments. I learned about the Liberty Bell. I never knew that "Pensylvania" was spelled wrong on the liberty bell. I learned that September 17th was the official day that America became it's own independent country from England. I saw the different documents signed as well as a couple of the original documents. I learned that the 2 people moving the bell had similar names. Their first names were John and their last names were slightly different.
