  1. The role of the citizen is to be brave. When there is a lack of justice its the citizens job to stand up against it. The freedom riders helped me understand this because even though they were faced with great danger, they still stood up against it and help bring awareness to how broken the justice system was.

  2. There are many roles of a citizen when there is a lack of justice in our society. One of the roles us citizens have are to fight for what we believe in and to never give up. The Freedom Writers in my opinion influenced my statement because they too fought for their rights and they did it without violence. They have mixed motives but still very influential.

  4. A citizen has many roles in society where there is injustice. Citizens as a whole must come together as a whole to accomplish all the wrongs. The Freedom Writers have contributed a tremendous amount to helping understanding this role. The Freedom Riders bravely when around to different cities non-violently protesting. Not only African Americans, but also whites stood up for the equal justice that they believe everyone should have.

  5. The role of a citizen when there is a lack of justice in our society is to stand up for what you believe in, to make public of the disrespect that others dare to show to other people just because of their skin color. Civil rights leaders and citizens both whites and black tried to break segregation by going into the deep south on buses known as the Freedom Riders. With making this problem public or nationwide or worldwide, it takes courage and the ability to react to any situations in a proper manner. The Freedom Riders showed this is by taking every beating, arrest and hateful comments and turned it into self-motivation to wanting to end the segregation. The Freedom Riders help me understand this role because they are one of the many prime examples that stood up against the law and fought for freedom and to me that explains a lot about how much they wanted to abolish the segregation in the Deep South.

No matter what the world had put against them, they relied on each other to be supportive to their message as a whole. They understood that they all mattered together. 21. I believe there is an important role citizens have in a society with a lack of justice. They should raise awareness on the problems in that society, especially if the authorities aren't going to do so. We are always told as young people that if we aren’t part of the solution we’re part of the problem; and I understand the Freedom Riders had this mentality, knowing that standing around wasn’t going to fix anything. They would rather risk their lives to make a statement about the injustice happening to others than stay silent and let the problem flourish. As citizens we should take action like they did, or support those taking action when others are being treated unfairly in the community. The Freedom Riders helped me understand that non-violent protest is an effective but risky way to address situations that aren’t being addressed, and citizens should play a major part in the solving of these problems.

  26. The role of a citizen is to recognize that a change needs to be made, then, become the change. During the Freedom Riders film, there was a lot of resistance to the change that the riders were trying to create. Most of the people who opposed their ideas were white adult males. These men abused and tortured and belittled the Freedom Riders. There was a lot of resistance because people get comfortable and set in their ways and also may become scared of what change could bring or produce. The Freedom Riders have been a perfect prime example of "being the change." They were several brave citizens eager to change the viewpoints, ideas and assumptions that blacks and whites cannot and should not be integrated. They demonstrated this by attempting to travel safely through the deepest parts of the South on the "Freedom Ride." They also taught all people that each individual does have a voice which they can use to influence and impact society in various ways. If the government is not fulfilling their rights as an authority, then citizens should stand up for their own problems. Similarly, the Freedom Riders also portrayed this in their life. Within that society, citizens deserve to have the fairness of treatment and neutrality, and if they do not have that they deserve to be heard. having a voice overpowers every role. Protesting on justice and equality is a chance citizens should take. The Freedom Riders helped me understand the brutality that African Americans with a voice went through. The Freedom Riders have helped me understand this because they were just ordinary citizens suffering from a lack of justice and decided to stand up and let their voices be heard in order to cause a huge change in the way America operated. 34. Citizens have many roles to play when it comes to the lack of justice in our society. As a citizen we have the right to fight for what we believe in. To get something that you want in life you have to go for it. That is what the Freedom Riders did. They fought for their rights and did so without aggression or violence.

  35. The role of a citizen is to make sure the higher power is pushed to do something about an important situation. Our responsibilities and rights help us to stand up against injustice and make changes in our society. The freedom riders were some citizens who made changes, they helped me to understand this because they were African american citizens who were treated poorly cause of their race. They chose to stand up and they made a huge change in the way America operated. The freedom riders helped me understand that a group of people with the same goal are stronger than a group of people with negative intentions.

  36. Within the documentary on the Freedom Riders citizens challenge the lack of justice of blacks throughout the Southern part of the United States. The Freedom Riders risk their lives to stand against segregation as they make it their responsibility or their role as citizens to make a change. The role of the citizen when there is injustice present in their society is to simply take a stand and use their rights to create justice. Trying to create a legal and non-violent push against the government can go a long way especially in today's society. I feel as though the Freedom Riders helps us understand this topic as it shows how drastic measures can get, but in the end the outcome was justice.

  37. Being a citizen has to do more than just voting and paying taxes, it also means that we have the right to voice out our own opinions and get things that we know is wrong fixed with the law. I feel that if there is a lack of justice in our society we should come together to try and fix what the injustice is. I feel like the Freedom Riders did help me understand this role because they did not care about the consequences of them trying to make things right, they knew segregation was wrong and they were the ones bold enough to act upon it.

  38. The role of a citizen is to do whats right for the society. If there is a lack of justice in society it is the duty of the citizen to do what they feel is right. I feel as though the freedom riders did the right thing and helped society because they saw an injustice and fought for it.

  39. Being in society you have to do right as a citizen. Like if something happens in society it is a citizens job to fix the issue. I feel that the freedom riders went about it the right way because they helped the society by correcting the injustice that was happening.

  40. The citizens have a big role in this country, the role to lead the country to more greatness and to make the country a more safe and happy environment for everybody. Once, the citizens see that the justice isn't being served its their duty to do what's right and make equality. The freedom riders did what they thought was right, they were standing for others who were terrified to stand up for their rights. They faced a lot of hatred and threats, but they were strong for their rights and for the future. They gave every citizen an important message, stand up and fight for what you believe in, because you can change the future and law, just like the freedom riders.

  41. The history of terrorism began with the French revolution. The most common causes of terrorism dealt with civilizations or culture clashes, globalization, religion, Israeli-Palestinian conflict, or the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. individual-based reasons for terrorism are frustration, deprivation, negative identity, and narcissistic rage. The united state department defines terrorism as "politically motivated violence". There are five different types of terrorism there are State-Sponsored terrorism which is when terrorist acts on a state or government, Dissent terrorism which is a group that riot against their own government, Terrorists and the Left and Right which are groups in political ideology, Religious terrorism which are groups who are religiously motivated meaning they do it based upon beliefs, and last Criminal Terrorism which is used to aid in crime and violent acts. Terrorisms has been around for as long as we can image, although, the Sicarii was the very first century to attack with violent acts they murdered enemies and made history first on terrorism.
