                        Philadelphia - Where they debated the fine line between Tyranny and Anarchy

On Monday, September 13th we celebrated National Constitution Day by traveling as an 11th grade class to Philadelphia.  On this date in 1787, more delegates signed the newly formed constitution than any other day during the forming of our union.  At that time, they were unsure what kind of country they would get. They hoped they were creating something new.  They hoped they were creating a place where men could have rights and be free from their oppressor.  Unfortunately, there were whispers of injustice in terms of freedom for slaves and women.  Nonetheless, our founding fathers participated in this experiment of democracy for better or for worse. 

Write a paragraph or more explaining how our trip to Philadelphia to see the National Constitution Center, Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, helped you gain a better understanding of our democracy and/or our country.

    I feel like this trip did help us find a better understanding of democracy. This is because we talked about the important people talked about their options with each other and debated. They didn't pick one ruler and that person made all of the choices. As stated before, it was decided upon over voting, because that's what a democracy is. This is what I learned during our field trip.

      Additionally, I learned during the trip was that there was a always an order formed. That's what a democracy is. It's voting but with order and structure. No matter what the American people were always able to stay together.

  2. what I learned on this trip was how the colonies thought and what their thought process was on how to run a country without tyranny. the politics that were talked about democracy helped the people stay together with their voices being heard as Americans.

  3. I learned that each state had its own politician that owned each state. Thomas Jefferson was the greatest Philadelphia n ever. Arguments have occurred over time but they always vouched for the people. The country was named its own country in Philly. That's how the united states came to be.

    i think the field trip to Philadelphia was good because it helped me expand my knowledge in american history. the liberty bell is self explanatory because i the bell of liberty. sure the bell of liberty might be self explanatory but i didn't quiet get what was it purpose of it history. the constitution center was also confusing because again i didn't get its purpose but i enjoy it. it helped me understand that America was ruled before and they were not always free and them gaining their freedom just made them want to rule others, this just goes to show that they are......

  5. I had some fun on the trip to Philly. I didn't know that September 13 was the birth date of the constitution. I think it's funny that Thomas Jefferson was "the greatest Philadelphian" and he was from Boston. The constitution was signed by George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. They were the only presidents to sign it.

  6. This trip I learned some interesting things about the constitution and the important people that was involved in the constitution. I seen that a lot of things was named after Benjamin Franklin and that it was constitution day on the day we went on the field trip.

  7. During the trip I learned that those places we visited was where everything went down during the constitution. We actually stepped foot where the meetings was held and took placed. Seems interesting looking at the items that they used back then and we seen the liberty bell but we couldn't touch it because it was for display.

  8. Our trip to Philadelphia to see the National Constitution Center and Independence Hall helped me gain a better understanding of our democracy and/or our country. While in the National Constitution Center we saw a interactive one (wo)man show/play. Throughout this I learned more about our country's history and how our country was ratified. Additionally,while there I got to go into a voting booth and go through the process as If I was actually voting. Then in the Independence Hall we took a tour that allowed us to see artifacts from that time period. Seeing this helped me visualize all the delegates signing the new reformed constitution.

    The trip to see the National Constitution Center, Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, helped me gain a better understanding of our democracy and country. The Liberty bell museum had little sections about why the liberty bell is important and what it represent. Later, my group went to see the National Constitution center where we watched a women talk about how our country has advanced. The entire trip helped me understand more about how our country can to be.

  12. A couple things I learned from the field trip is that Philly is an Important city in the U.S and I also learned a lot about the deceleration of independence. I have learned that when in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. I also learned how much appreciation people have for the deceleration of independence building.-Roberto Colon

  13. During the trip to Philly, I learn many of things from Independence hall to the Liberty to the Constitution. Pennsylvania was one of the first colonies of America to be created. Back then, our documents had to be approved by the British who was in charge at the time. Since they didnt have technology back then, it took a long time for messages to get across the world. Our Constitution was actually made on the day of our trip which was a interesting part of the whole trip because we go to see many different people who were involved in the constitution as well as celebrate it. One fun thing about the trip was seeing the actual bell which in person is smaller than usual.

    When we were on the Philly trip I have learned the liberty bell is very important and a very famous bell. Also,when we went into the Independence Hall I I learned that it was a building where both the united states Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted. My favorite part about the trip was when we got to sit and watch a little projection thing and that lady performing. Really enjoyed myself and the good food!

    When we went to the Philly trip I learned about the liberty bell and how it was a very important bell because it was an iconic symbol of the American Independence. Another thing I learned during this trip was that Delaware, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia, and eight other states were the first thirteenth colonies. One think I really enjoyed about this trip was when we went to see the Liberty Bell and its significance behind it.

  16. When we attended the Philly trip, I learned about the liberty bell. Also, i learned about our countries history and what was different in the past then now. We visited the museum and i learned a lot about information about the past presidents and senators. I learned that the constitution was signed by Ben Franklin. I loved the trip it was very educational.

    When we went to Philly I learned about the most important symbol of the United States; The Liberty Bell. It is a very iconic symbol. In the independence hall we were inside the room where the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution was debating upon. My favorite part was when we learned about how Pennsylvania was one of the first colonies of America to be created.

Unfortunately, there were whispers of injustice in terms of freedom for slaves and women. Nonetheless, our founding fathers participated in this experiment of democracy for better or for worse. Unfortunately, there were whispers of injustice in terms of freedom for slaves and women. Nonetheless, our founding fathers participated in this experiment of democracy for better or for worse. After years of non-violent protests, some in the civil rights movement felt that change was not real nor was it happening at a rate commensurate with the effort put in. Therefore, Huey Newton and others started the Black Panther Movement. This movement considered threats, fear, intimidation and violence to reach their goals.I’ve seen the liberty bell .

    1 thing I learned from the Philly trip was that the deceleration of independence wasn't officially signed until until September 17th.
    I Also learned that Rhode Island was the only state that didn't that didn't show up to the convention. One last thing that i learned is that the liberty bell moved places

    In philly I learned multiple things. During the trip I learned that we arent able to touch the liberty bell because the bell can break from us touching it with the oils in our hands. Another thing I learned is that September 13th is National constitution day. I didnt know that before the trip lastly, Rhode Island was the only state that didn't show up in the convention.

    The Philly trip helped me to gain better knowledge about our democracy in many ways. I learned that the Liberty Bell is a symbol of American independence. It was originally cast in 1752,in London, England. It was recast by John Pass and John Stow. More as the Independence Hall was the birthplace of America. The Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were both debated and signed inside this building.

    While we were in Philly i learned lots of things that i didn't know before. I learned that the liberty bell is something that people born and raised in Philly take pride in and people from all over come there just to see it. I also learned that you are not allowed to touch the liberty bell because the oil from your skin can mess it up. My favorite part of the trip was when we went and watched the show in that room with the projector and the lad talking.

    From the philly trip I learned that the symbol on the back of one of their chairs is a rising sun. The liberty bell is used as a symbol of american independence. Benjamin Franklin was buried with his wife, Deborah Frankiln. The liberty bell had been originally casted in London, England in the year of 1752. The Declaration of Independence hadn't been officially signed until September 17th.

    During the trip to Philly, I learned about the Liberty Bell, The Constitution, and Independence Hall. On September 13, 1787, more delegates signed the Constitution, hoping to create something new. The Liberty Bell, which was established in 1751, symbolizes freedom in America. Independence Hall is where The Constitution and The Declaration of Independence were debated. It is now a historical site.

    During the trip to Philly I learned many interesting things about the constitution and how it came to be. As the Liberty Bell is a symbol of American independence.During the trip it gave me a better understanding on our democracy and how the nations became separated and independent with each containing its own government. I learnd about the independence hall and where important people such as Abraham Lincoln gathered to have an important debate about the constitution. Overall I learned a lot of of new interesting facts involving the economy and how it came to be.

    Terrorism is an act of terror done by terrorist to promote certain ideology. To put it into simple words, they use terror to advance to their goals. There are different types of terrorism. These include Terror by people against the government, which is basically when people try to overthrow a government. It's kind of a revolutionary process but through the use of terror. Than there is state sponsored terrorism, which is terrorism sponsored by a government such as El-Qaddafi. Terrorism has also evolved throughout time. Past terrorism was due to political motivation, and the viewpoint on the political ideas. Slowly the focused of the terrorism changed to religion. Terrorist groups such as ISIS target certain group of people/country who doesn't believe in their religion.
